I was in the audience last night at the performance of Mourning Dove and just had to write to tell you what a profoundly moving experience I found that to be.
It was a thought-provoking, moving and artfully written play... I can honestly say that it wasn't until last night that I began to consider this unspeakable tragedy from so many points of view... My thanks for providing this catalyst for much thought and soul-searching.

As an avid theatre-goer for more than half a century, I don't proclaim "a great play" very easily... My individual barometer is how much the play still resonates for me hours and days later. If I am still haunted by the tightly-wound face and body of Doug as he masks his profound love for his wife and daughter, his helplessness and despair at their pain, and his rage at the medical establishment with futile attempts to create a puppet show that will somehow, magically, suspend the future, I know I've seen something amazing.
When I feel tears beginning every time I recall Sandra's sunny optimism, barely veiling the depth of her desperation, and try to imagine how Ben managed to create a Keith who is so authentic, so charming and funny and deeply loving, I have to acknowledge not only the skill of this astounding team... but the immense skill of the playwright.
